Matt Guardabascio, Director of Alumni & Donor Engagement
Matt Guardabascio, Director of Alumni & Donor Engagement for Leadership Long Beach, is a proud Long Beach native and is working to foster a stronger, more philanthropic city. He is a firm believer of the impact collaborative work can have on a community, the importance of access to opportunities for growth and development, both personal and professional, and the significant role that nonprofits and the nonprofit sector have in the community as partners and innovators. Prior to his role with Leadership Long Beach, Matt grew philanthropy in the city through his work with Long Beach Gives and the Long Beach City College Foundation.
Raelene Child, Programs Director
Raelene Child, Programs Director for Leadership Long Beach, has been a member of the Long Beach community for more than a decade. Raelene spent nearly two decades at the Aquarium of the Pacific, delivering youth volunteer and educational opportunities to the community. Earning her Master of Science in Science Education from California State University, Long Beach connected Raelene to Long Beach’s educational landscape. She built and maintains relationships with California State University, Long Beach and Long Beach Unified School District that connect her, and Leadership Long Beach, to the two largest educational institutions in Long Beach – connections that have proved critical for the development of the organization’s youth programming.
Raelene also works closely with the City of Long Beach’s Office of Youth Development by serving as an advisor and facilitator for Long Beach’s Youth Advisory Council. The first in her family to graduate from college, Raelene has made it her mission to inspire girls and people of color to pursue education in STEM fields.
