Dear Friend of California HOSA: Future Health Professionals: The California HOSA: Future Health Professionals (Cal-HOSA) State Officers, along with the Board of Directors and the California Department of Education, invite you to participate as a judge at the 2022 State Leadership Conference which will be held March 24th-26th, 2022 at the Long Beach Convention Center and Hyatt Regency Hotel. The conference will bring together future health professionals from across California to experience HOSA at its absolute best. HOSA is a national career technical student organization that provides a unique program of leadership and skill development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for middle school, secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs. At the annual Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference, students have an opportunity to try out their skills and test their knowledge in a competitive events format; attend health careers workshops; and network with other health careers students from throughout the state. Competitive event categories include Health Science, Health Professions, Emergency Preparedness, Leadership, Teamwork, and Recognition – as you can see, there is something for everyone! All events focus on how the students’ skills and knowledge are applied in health and biomedical careers. It is for these competitive events that we need your help as judges. There you will see the competitive events listed by date and time. Please choose the event(s) that interest you and register to be a judge for as many events as you wish, as long as they don’t conflict in scheduled time. Judge orientation sessions will be provided virtually. Final information on the time and location of your orientation and the competitive event will be provided closer to the conference. Please register as soon as you can, and especially before Friday, March 13, so that we can determine where our needs are. You are welcome to invite your friends and colleagues to judge also – there is something to interest everyone, and you don’t need to be a health professional to judge many of these events.
